Hi. I’m Emelie Marie. I am a curious mind and am constantly learning.

My big passion lies in health and specifically the human microbiome. There is a massive amount of research coming out about the human microbiome. I have worked in several microbiome research projects at the top-institutions Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and Uppsala University. Now I enjoy learning from the results of this incredible research and figuring out how to best apply that in peoples’ lives — right here, right now.

When I’m not researching and writing about the microbiome, I’m a software engineer. I’ve always loved programming, and decided to focus on programming classes during my engineering degree. I have now worked professionally with software engineering and web development for almost 6 years. Being interested in human psychology/interaction and what directly makes peoples’ lives better — I focus mainly on frontend and user experience (UX).
